Visitors will appreciate the paved walking / biking path that runs parallel to the beach. Frangista Beach

A great neighborhood to bike is Frangista Beach east of Mediterranea along Scenic 98. Bike along the quiet streets and enjoy the diverse coastal architecture. Located at the back of the Frangista Beach Neighborhood is a quaint chapel. Built in 1959 by John Nitsos, a Greek immigrant, the St. Nicholas by the Sea Chapel is a non-sectarian place of prayer and reflection. After some recent vandalism, the chapel has been restored to its original beauty.

Crystal Beach

Another great neighborhood to bike is the Crystal Beach neighborhood located to the west of Mediterranea. This quiet Destin neighborhood features pastel homes and white picket fences. With limited traffic, this neighborhood is scenic and great for bike riding. Be sure to wave and say "hi" to the neighbors then head to the neighborhood cafe at Camille's Cafe. The sidewalk cafe features delicious breakfast items, smoothies, lunch items and local beer, which are the perfect complement to the live musical performances on select evenings.
